Gas tax is going up
Lawmakers OK bump in gas tax of 9.5 cents
昨天參議院通過了四年內增加 9.5 cents 的汽油稅(前兩年每年加 3 cents, 第三年 2 cents, 第四年 1.5 cents). 目前這決議已經送到眾議院. 如果通過, 目前的每加侖 28 cents 的汽油稅, 在四年後將至每加侖 37.5 cents.

這些錢主要是要重建西雅圖市中心的 Alaskan 高架橋, US-520 的浮橋, I-450 等等州內急需保養的道路和橋樑.

什麼水來著? (一之二) 星期日去轉了一下, 原來這是口自流井. 井深超過 400 英呎(約 120 公尺), 水量以每分鐘十加侖流出. 這口井是由 Alderwood Water District 管轄, 每個月定期會派人檢驗水質. 這口井的目的除了可以監測 Alderwood Water District 的地區水質概況(當地區受污染時, 地下水是第一個被污染的), 也提供不喜歡飲用自來水場淨化消毒過的水的居民, 一個可以取用純天然水的地方. 至於水的味道如何? 和普通自來水比較, 可以明顯感覺到不一樣.
