今天下午 3:30pm Boeing 將會正式的介紹 Boeing 787. * Boeing 787 裡 65% 都不是由 Boeing 自己建造. Boeing 委託長榮航太科技改裝舊的 Boeing 747 為 Boeing 747 LCF (Dreamlifter), 來運送來自全球的 Boeing 787 組件. * Boeing 787 將是首架全機使用過半的複合材料製造的飛機. * Boeing 787 的窗戶將比 Boeing 777 大約 25%. 並使用按鈕式的調整窗戶明暗, 而不是下拉式的擋板. * 根據 Boeing, 787 將可以節省約 20% ~ 30% 的燃料. 原本 Boeing 是想設計為接近超音速的客機 (Sonic Cruiser). 讓旅客們節省至少 20% 的飛行時間. 但是在油價和 911 的影響下, 航空公司需求為省錢和低保養的客機, 造就了 Boeing 787 (Dreamliner).
